Sharing client news – Chicago History Museum wins National Medal

CONGRATULATIONS to the Chicago History Museum!

Conferred by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), the award is the nation’s highest honor given to museums and libraries in recognition of exceptional service and outreach. For twenty-two years, the award has celebrated institutions that respond to the public’s needs in innovative ways, making a difference for individuals, families, and their communities.

The honor recognizes the Museum’s collaborative efforts with various neighborhoods and community groups on exhibitions including My Chinatown, Benito Juarez and the Making of Modern Mexico, Out in Chicago, and Shalom Chicago. It also acknowledges the Museum’s work in hosting special programs such as the Day of Remembrance for Japanese internment, which is organized by several groups representing Chicago’s Japanese American community.
