“History of Kenilworth” ongoing exhibit

Over the last year, DavidB has been assisting the Kenilworth Historical Society design and layout large panels for their “History of Kenilworth” exhibit in the local Metra train station.  A few of the panels were recently framed and hung in a special regional meeting for the Kenilworth Garden Club (founded in 1915).

Each Metra station exhibit installation incorporates 4 panels – telling stories of Kenilworth on various topics and time periods.  Choosing the final few photos that will match the content is no small task as the digital collection grows every month.  At last count, KHS has digitized over 10,000 images, as well as images of their many artifacts, to use in digital media and print.

Kenilworth is the only North Shore Chicago suburb that was developed as a planned community in the early 1890s.  Much of the town’s charm was enhanced by architect and town planner George W. Maher, a colleague of Frank Lloyd Wright.
