Chicago Historical Society: The History Files
Everything looks beautiful, by the way!
Cristy Conklin
In 1997, The Chicago Historical Society (now Chicago History Museum) needed an online resource for researchers that could include not only content, but downloads, and to be housed in a museum-like custom design. The one company that resonated for the job was Your Plan B Company who helped facilitate organization of the huge archival task and designed a classy website that still holds up by today’s standards.
The basic requirements for the new resource site required a clean and quick navigation, the integration of historic articles, factual bibliographies, an index glossary, fun facts and many more archival images. Overall, the web site needed to portray the elegance and expertise of The Chicago Historical Society while providing a wealth of information about some of the inside stories of Chicago’s most memorable events.
