American Friends of Italian Monumental Sculpture

Working with Camposanto di Staglieno, Genoa, Italy

The monumental cemetery of Staglieno in Genoa, Italy is the largest outdoor sculpture museum in Europe and houses the finest collection of late 19th and early 20th century Italian marble sculpture, yet it is almost completely overlooked. Genoa is not part of the “grand tour” of Italy, and cemeteries rarely get the attention of art lovers, art historians, or tourists, so even within Italy this incredible place is almost unknown.

The magnificent treasures of Staglieno are part of our cultural heritage. The American Friends of Italian Monumental Sculpture (AFIMS) is assisting the City of Genoa in its efforts to preserve the art and artistic legacy of the Camposanto di Staglieno for current and future generations.  Learn how you can help this mission!

Thank you to Walter Arnold, stonecarver.com, for including us in this wonderful project!

The group at AFIMS needed an easy to update from anywhere website.  WordPress was the perfect answer – reliable, powerful and simple!  Over 23% of the internet is powered by WordPress.  Taking cues from the original HTML website and all the beautiful photographs, we refreshed the design and content organization into a CMS that works for the AFIMS team to keep us updated on their restoration progress.

If your group or organization needs a website facelift, please give us a call to see how we can help!
