Do you use Google Analytics?

First, what is Google Analytics?
“Google Analytics provides powerful digital analytics for anyone with a web presence, large or small. It’s one of the most powerful digital analytics solutions available – and it’s free for anyone to use.”

In other words it is a free online tool that allows you to view who is visiting your site, when are they there and what are they looking at. Also, you can watch keyword effectiveness and which search terms visitors are using!

Second, some great reasons why this is helpful for your website!
A typical report will tell you:

  • How many visitors have hit your site in a given period
  • What percentage of visitors are new versus repeat
  • Where your traffic is coming from, e.g., Google, Facebook
  • What percentage is coming from referral sources like Google versus direct input, which would be your URL
  • How long visitors are staying on your site
  • What pages they’re looking at
  • What words they used to find your site
  • What part of the country or world they’re coming from
