“Everyone was delighted to receive their invitation to our “Ladies of the Lakes” luncheon. A postcard was designed by “Your Plan B”. Creative, beautiful, well laid out and representing, the northwoods, where we all live. Thanks so much! — Barb A. (committee member)”

As the practice is growing, so did the website from its earlier 2013 version. From additional bios, locations, patient resources and photos – WordPress and the Your Plan B team was flexible enough to add more functionality while keeping the site easy to update and within budget.

Welcome to the Illinois Early Childhood Higher Education Resources Online website (HERO), a project of the Illinois Resource Center: Early Childhood with funding from the Race to the Top Early Learning Challenge. Funding for HERO was provided in response to requests from higher education faculty of two and four year Early Childhood teacher preparation programs for a site where they could connect with and learn from their peers around the state. Surveys and focus groups with faculty indicated the need for a website to post and find the latest research and best practices and discuss innovative ideas. Specific content areas were recommended to help support pre-service students, including linguistic and cultural diversity, early math, child assessment and more.
HERO is here for you, with member submitted resources and discussions meant to support you in your work preparing early childhood educators!
Working with the committee to bring this idea to life has been rewarding – from learning about state requirements to finding great resources – this project has been great! We look forward to growing the site over the next year based on member activity and feedback.
“Wonderful working with you! Your enthusiasm and your professionalism is addictive!” – Brian M.
Adoption Link, a full service adoption agency located in the Chicago area, contacted us when it was time to update their site from basic HTML to a CMS. They needed their new site to be user friendly, admin friendly and RWD – especially since its audience is mostly mobile users. WordPress seemed like the perfect fit!
Working with their team, we redesigned the site, assisted with content organization and hosting migration with weekly meetings. After the site launched, we trained them on WordPress (with a custom Style Guide and How to Guide) so they can keep their content and images fresh through the browser based admin system.
“Your Plan B is a wonderful company to work with. They completely redesigned our website and brought us into the 21st century in terms of design and usefulness. Jamey was the perfect blend of cheerleader and coach–just what we needed. Highly recommended!” – Erin C.
Spooky stuff for Spooky People
A strong online community can foster subgroups that grow into full-fledged communities of their own. Spooky, Inc. grew out of the tightly knit Gothic Chicago (est’d 1996) community as an attempt to delve into a broader array of horror topics and offers movie reviews, a growing MP3 station, and a store that specializes in “spooky stuff for spooky people.”
“That is really cool, thanks so much!”
YaYa Han – October 2, 2012
“Appreciate it, thanks again!”
Right now, both of you get up and take a long deep bow. This really is a big step for a small museum.
PS — Did you really get up from the desk a take a bow? Please do. More
